DANE | Hi-Ten Series

June 01, 2015

Tribe Bicycle Co - Dane

If anyone does style right, it’s probably the Danes, so here’s our shout out to good looks accompanied by some athletic edge.

The Dane exhibits sleek minimalism and an athletic touch with its satin white frame, red field stripes and matte black components. The bike’s a single speed, fixed gear cruiser that’ll make your ride from point A to B enjoyable without burning a hole in your pocket – And, with a 44/16 gear ratio, you’ll be able to and experience both a challenge and comfortability while riding. Its flip-flop hub is another feature that provides convenience to any rider looking to choose between fixed gear and single speed (we like versatility here).

So, when you’re on your way to meet friends at the local bar that serves outrageously overpriced beers, think of the affordable Dane, because you definitely need to buy that cute bartender a drink, too.

Specs for the Dane:

  • Satin White & Matte Black color way
  • Fork and frame are made of tig welded 1020 Hi-Tensile Steel
  • Tribe big-flange hubs
  • Forged 6061 aluminum crankset w/ sealed cartridge bottom bracket
  • Flip-flop rear hub allows you to choose between fixed gear and freewheel
  • Built-in chain tensioner
  • 43 mm deep-v rims

Cranksets: 44T, 46T, and 48t chainring, what's the difference?

November 02, 2017

Cranksets are one of the main components in the bicycle drivetrain system. They turn the energy your legs create into the motion that drives the bicycle forward (or also backwards in the case of fixed gear bikes). A chainring has a certain amount of teeth noted in the specs. For example, 44 or 46 or 48 t or teeth. So what do these numbers mean and how does it affect me when biking?
